ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

17 March 2014 Board Bolstered For Growth

Rampart Energy Limited (ASX:RTD) ("Company" or "Rampart") is pleased to advise that Mr Gavin Harper has been appointed to the Rampart Board as an Independent, Non-Executive Director.
Mr Gavin Harper has over 38 years experience in the oil and gas industry in a variety
of leadership roles in postings which include the UK, Australia, South Korea and China. A large portion of his broad professional experience is derived from more than 25 years employment with the Chevron group of companies, including secondment to WAPET as implementation and business manager for the Gorgon Project and three years as Managing Director of Chevron's South Korean gas business development company. More recently Gavin has been a director of a number of ASX listed companies including the recently included S&P/ASX 300 indexed Sino Gas and Energy Holdings, of which he is currently non-Executive Chairman.
Dr Ray Shaw Chairman of Rampart said, "Gavin's strong international business management experience is a very welcome addition to the Board, which with other recent changes, now bolsters its talent base to levels commensurate with market expectations of our future growth potential and intrinsic asset value".
"We remain very conscious of the need to strike a balance between a strong board and an overly cumbersome one, one that remains lean and is nimble to the tasks at hand", Dr Shaw said. "In this regard Mr Mal Lucas-Smith has agreed to step down as non-executive director so that in effect Gavin Harper will replace him." Mr Lucas Smith will continue as Company Secretary.
Dr Shaw reflected that Mr Lucas-Smith had agreed to again become a director in April
2012 as "an interim measure". Mr Lucas-Smith has had a long involvement with the Company, beginning with the corporate fore-runner of Rampart in 2008, as a director and company secretary.
"Shareholders should be greatly indebted to Mal having been prepared to step up as a director during these past two years - a period initially marked by great uncertainty and transition for our Company. It is heartening that Mal's corporate knowledge and corporate secretarial skills will continue to be utilized by the Company and new Board during this next exciting stage of growth", Dr Shaw commented.
