Raymond James Financial : Cares Month broadens impact, reflects community culture

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Raymond James financial advisors and associates contributed time and goods to a record number of organizations during the firm's annual Raymond James Cares Month in August. This year, more than 2,200 professionals in 105 local communities across 35 states contributed more than 6,100 hours to benefit 161 non-profit organizations. The number of organizations supported reflects an 11% increase from 2016.

Raymond James Cares is a coordinated, firm-wide community-service program that encourages advisors and associates to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. While the firm supports community service efforts and charitable giving throughout the year, August serves as Raymond James Cares Month to inspire a collective effort and impact.

Throughout August, advisors and associates collected and donated food, clothes, school supplies and pet supplies; built homes and beautified local nonprofit organizations; prepared and served meals for the homeless and families of sick children receiving medical treatment; hosted walks and fundraisers for charitable causes; cleaned up parks, highways and beaches; and packaged goods at multiple food banks.

Since the inception of Raymond James Cares Month in 2012, associates have volunteered more than 29,600 hours.

For 55 years, Raymond James has been a leader in philanthropy and community support. Raymond James and its associates poured more than $5 million into communities across the country through the annual United Way Suncoast workplace giving campaign, earning second place on the 2017 United Way Suncoast's 'Top 100 Most Generous Workplaces' list. In addition, associates are involved in numerous organizations across the nation, including civic clubs, schools, chambers of commerce and social service organizations.
