You never forget the things you learned as a child

Our aim is to bring children into contact with technology in an easily accessible way in a setting that does not remind them of school. In today's world, we are often glued to our devices. They are now an integral part of our daily lives. This is precisely why it is important for children to acquire some basic skills while having fun, as it makes them more aware of the world in which we live. During the Simplicity4kids events, we give our colleagues' children the chance to use Scratch, Office, Makey Makey and even programmable robots via CoderDojo. This is all extremely accessible for the children, with the tools and programs being applied to familiar items such as bananas and Lego. They are assisted by enthusiastic Realdolmen coaches who make sure the children experience an unforgettable day. The children learn different forms of coding mechanisms without actually realizing it, which helps to expand their basic knowledge. As the saying goes, 'you never forget the things you learned as a child'. These skills are especially useful considering every job will have a technological aspect to it in the future.

'It is surprising to see how children are able to create a small-scale program, game or story in just one day without any kind of previous experience whatsoever. They are even adept at presenting what they have made. The future is already in good hands,' says Steven Heyvaert, the driving force behind Simplicity4kids, with a smile.

Hidden talents

An entire day of children in the workplace generates the kind of energy that would be fantastic to experience every day. It is important to invest in the future. We consider it extremely worthwhile to help children become acquainted with programming and other aspects of IT. It teaches them from an early age to think in a way that enables them to find solutions. This skill will always prove useful. The children are also introduced to a new field of interest - one that may not yet have been covered at school.

A ride in our virtual reality Rollercoaster might just inspire them to become the next great game changer in the digital world. Who knows?
