Cardiff: 7 February 2012 - Regus, the world's largest
provider of flexible workplaces, is opening its fourth
business centre in Cardiff to support companies' growth
ambitions in one of the UK's most economically vibrant
cities.
The new Regus centre occupies a sought-after business
address and provides stunning views from its 15th floor
location in Cardiff's Brunel House, Fitzalan Road, next to
Queen Street railway station.
The centre will provide an entry point for start-ups in a
thriving business district that's home to around 2,800
SMEs, as well as serving the many globally recognised
companies in the city, especially in the financial services
sector which employs around 30% of the total workforce.
Celia Donne, Regional Director at Regus comments: "We took
the decision to open our fourth centre in Cardiff due to
consistently strong growth across all of our products over
the last couple of years. Companies of all sizes are
driving demand for flexible ways to entering new markets or
of making fewer resources go further while fulfilling the
needs of an increasingly mobile workforce.
"Our Virtual Office product, for instance, has seen a 20%
rise in customers at the Cardiff centres over the last
year. This is because home-based and small businesses are
saving themselves time by outsourcing their telephone calls
and mail handling to our centres, and boosting their image
by using one of our prestigious business addresses."
The centre is a short walk from Callaghan Square and
Central Square, which Cardiff Council plans to redevelop as
a new city centre business district.
Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council and Executive Member for
Economic Development and Transport, Cllr Neil McEvoy, said:
"I'm always keen to welcome any initiative that helps
business of all sizes to prosper in Cardiff. It's great
news that Regus is expanding more offices. It's even better
news to hear that there is the need and demand, as new
business means new jobs to the area. I know many companies
already run successful businesses from existing Regus
centres in the capital.
"Business development is at the forefront of our plans for
regeneration of the city. The new Central Business District
within the heart of the city cements our commitment and
investment in our businesses and our belief in our future."
The Cardiff Brunel House Centre is located at 2, Fizalan
Road in the heart of Cardiff and will serve businesses with
a range of products including fully equipped offices, a
business lounge and videoconferencing facilities.
