Following the success of the promotional campaign it ran
during last year's Rugby World Cup, Renault is once again
putting its weight behind the French national squad.
The 2012 6 Nations RBS tournament will see Renault and its
sales network back in action with a fresh advertising
campaign, two new player ambassadors, exciting special
offers and more special events.
A new TV advertisement starring French player Imanol
Harinordoquy and the brand's two new player-ambassadors -
François Trinh-Duc and Dimitri Szarzewski - will be
broadcast for the first time on Saturday, February 4.
From March 15 until March 19, more than 400 French
dealerships will don the colours of the 'XV de France' to
promote the Renault range in general and the latest
'Ovalie' limited edition cars in particular.
Rugby-themed sales promotion drive The 2012 6 Nations RBS tournament provides Renault
with a perfect opportunity to promote its model range, with
the accent on the latest special edition 'Ovalie' versions
of Kangoo, Mégane and Laguna. These vehicles feature
attractively-priced packs of additional options, while Clio
'XV de France' is still available for sale.
Next month (March 15-19), the Renault network will join
forces to share its passion for rugby with the French
public and to promote the French national team. Some 400
dealerships will be decked out with giant balloons, plus
special window and point-of-sale displays, including
life-size cut-outs of Renault's three ambassadors: Imanol
Harinordoquy, François Trinh-Duc and Dimitri
Szarzewski.
Meanwhile, customers will be invited to test their rugby
skills thanks to a number of fun attractions, and more than
100,000 rugby-themed gifts will be handed out to visitors
by sales outlets across the country.
To give as many people as possible a chance to get
involved, Renault will distribute its 'Key Game' to more
than 10 million people, and seven 'XV de France' Clios
await the lucky winners!
A new TV advertisement starring Renault's two new
ambassadors
To coincide with France's opening game of the 2012
tournament, against Italy, Renault is poised to continue
its series of rugby ads with the launch of a new film
featuring 'Ovalie' versions of Kangoo, Mégane and
Laguna. French players François Trinh-Duc and Dimitri
Szarzewski join Imanol Harinordoquy as ambassadors for the
brand, and more particularly for the XV de France range of
products which was first introduced in 2008.
The 30-second film carries over the same off-beat humour
that ensured the success of previous campaigns. It depicts
the three players in team kit taking control of operations
to enable a dealership to open in time to present the new
'Ovalie' vehicles. It will be broadcast for the first time
on February 4 and will be backed up by an online
campaign.
Renault gives the 'XV de France' a chance to sample
the Z.E. experience
In the course of the 2012 6 Nations, Renault will invite
members of the French national squad's staff and its three
ambassadors to sample the Z.E. (Zero Emissions) experience.
The brand's special guests will get a chance to discover
the world of electric vehicles during what promises to be a
day full of surprises and new sensations. The day's
programme will also include an encounter between the French
players and members of ACBB, an amateur club with which
Renault has long enjoyed a special association owing to its
historic ties with Boulogne-Billancourt.
Guillaume Josselin (Marketing and Communications Director,
France): "Following the success of the brand's sales
and promotional drive during last year's Rugby World Cup,
it was important for Renault to reassert its association
with the French national team. This will take the form of
bespoke products, network-wide promotions and a new
advertising campaign, as well as on-the-ground operations
aimed at consolidating the ties we enjoy with the world of
rugby as whole in France."
Renault and rugby
In addition to its longstanding involvement in
motorsport, Renault also enjoys a close association
with the world of French rugby. As the country's
number one automotive brand and its leading network
thanks to some 5,000 points of sale, Renault is
naturally involved in the sport on an everyday basis
at local level, with professional and amateur clubs
alike. Rugby takes pride of place across Renault's
French network thanks not only to the brand's
partnerships with the French rugby federation (FFR)
and with the French national side (Official Partner
and Official Car of the 'XV de France'), but also
through more than 80 partnerships that extend from
teams contesting France's 'Top 14' premier league to
clubs at grass roots level.
