Bolivian president Evo Morales and Repsol president Antonio Brufau met today in Brussels to finalize an agreement that will allow the company to explore a new block in southern Bolivia, where the country's largest producing fields are located.

At the meeting, Evo Morales and Antonio Brufau discussed current issues facing the energy sector, they analyzed new common projects, as well as Bolivia´s strategic position in the Latin-American market.

They also analyzed the company's plans to increase production and reserves in the Andean country.

During the meeting, Evo Morales expressed his satisfaction and confidence in Repsol's operatorships in Bolivia, while Antonio Brufau reaffirmed the company's commitment to the development of the country's energy sector as well as its commitment to study new collaboration projects.

Repsol has mineral rights to a total of 31 blocks in Bolivia, made up of 6 in exploration and 25 in development or production. In 2016, the group's total net gas production in the country amounted to 2.39 billion cubic meters, mainly from the Margarita-Huacaya field operated by Repsol.
