Four world-leading companies are joining forces, for the first time, at the Convergences World Forum in Paris driven by a shared conviction that businesses have a major role to play in promoting sustainable growth. Through targeted conferences and workshops in support of the theme of the event "Goal 2030: building tomorrow's world together", Rexel, Veolia, Unilever and Crédit Agricole S.A. will lay the foundations for shared discussion on a global scale and exchange ideas around the opportunities for creating new, more inclusive development models.
With 5,000 participants, more than 50 conferences, and a host of internationally renowned speakers, the Convergences World Forum takes place from 8-10 September, 2014, at the Palais Brongniart and Paris City Hall. The forum is the first platform in Europe for shared thought and debate surrounding the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
"Creating a global partnership is at the heart of the United Nations Post-2015 Development Agenda. Within this context, adopting new sustainable consumption and production patterns is essential: it is for this very reason that Convergences has made this cross-cutting theme one of the pillars of the 2014 World Forum. Businesses are key members of this global partnership and have a critical role to play in encouraging more equitable growth. We are proud that Crédit Agricole S.A., Rexel, Unilever and Veolia have answered the call of Convergences," said Jean-Michel Severino, President of Convergences.
