Ricardo : shortlisted for ‘Powertrain Innovation of the Year’ award

The Ricardo 750T-GT3 six-speed transverse sequential transmission has been nominated as one of the shortlisted products in the Powertrain Innovation of the Year category of the highly prestigious Professional MotorSport World Expo 2016 Awards.
The 750T-GT3 transmission is a unique Ricardo product, designed in close collaboration with the customer. A clean sheet concept with highly novel packaging solution, the transmission was designed not only for performance, but serviceability in mind. Extensive use was made of finite element analysis to optimize the structure, and extensive rig testing was carried out to ensure that this advanced motorsport product was developed right first time in a highly compressed timescale. At the Le Mans 2016 24 hours endurance race, the Ricardo 750T-GT3 transmission was utilised exclusively by one OEM team, delivering a class win and dominating performance.
