Ricardo : signs MoU with China International Engineering Consulting Corporation

Environmental consultancy Ricardo Energy & Environment and China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create greater access to global environmental, energy, water and sustainability services throughout China.

The MoU was signed yesterday at Ricardo Energy & Environment's offices in London. The agreement comes after discussions in China between high ranking CIECC officials and a delegation from the Ricardo Group, including Ricardo Energy & Environment managing director Tim Curtis, and Ricardo CEO Dave Shemmans. The partnership brings together CIECC's heritage in engineering and infrastructure in China with Ricardo's expertise in sustainable development to support China's ambitious air quality, water, waste, transport and energy programmes.

'Over a number of meetings, Ricardo Energy & Environment has built a strong relationship with CIECC, and I am delighted that this has developed into a working partnership,' said Tim Curtis. 'Together we will share experience and innovation in sustainable development and technology to help identify effective solutions to China's long-term environmental goals.'

The Government of China's current five-year plan has a specific focus on environmental protection. As the largest multi-disciplinary engineering consulting organization in China, CIECC plays an important consulting role to central government in its decision-making and implementation of major national construction projects.
