Companies to collaborate on new technologies for Incheon International Airport and jointly expand footprint in Southeast Asia

SINGAPORE (Sept. 11, 2014) - Rockwell Collins today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) for closer collaboration to enhance passenger processing at Incheon International Airport, and to jointly expand their footprint in Southeast Asia.

Rockwell Collins, through its acquisition of ARINC in 2013, has been a long-standing partner of IIAC in its pursuit of innovative products and services to enhance and streamline passenger processing. Incheon International Airport has used Rockwell Collins' ARINC portfolio of passenger processing solutions since the airport opened.

"Incheon has thrived by using the latest and most innovative technology in all stages of the passenger journey, from check-in to immigration, and Rockwell Collins' ARINC suite of products has played a major role in that over the years," said Seong Kag Hong, vice president, Aerodome Division of IIAC. "This MoU is a natural progression in our relationship and will result in new solutions for the airport going forward."

Rockwell Collins will also integrate its ARINC vMUSE™ common-use platform and other passenger and baggage processing solutions with IIAC's new AirCUS check-in solution, offering airlines greater flexibility and reliability while ensuring smooth passenger flows and operational efficiencies.

In addition, the MoU calls for both companies to combine their technical expertise, cutting-edge solutions and industry knowledge to advance passenger processing in small and medium airports in Southeast Asia.

"IIAC's knowledge of airport operations and our expertise in developing cutting-edge, scalable passenger processing solutions create a perfect team for this endeavor," explained Heament John Kurian, managing director, Information Management Service, Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins.

Rockwell Collins already counts among its customers airports such as Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Hong Kong International Airport, Narita International Airport and Noi Bai International Airport in Vietnam.
