SANTIAGO, Chile (March 25, 2014) - Rockwell Collins and Avionics Services signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to build in-country displays during a ceremony that was held Tuesday at Feria Internacional del Aire y del Espacio (FIDAE) 2014.

"This agreement provides a key, in-country capability of building advanced avionics displays for military aircraft operating throughout Brazil and Latin America. This continues to demonstrate our investment and commitment to partner with local companies and transfer technologies to help build the Brazilian defense industry," said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, the Americas for Rockwell Collins.

Rockwell Collins and Avionics Services have already successfully collaborated on upgrading a C-130H aircraft for a country in Latin America. The aircraft was upgraded with Rockwell Collins avionics and completed a successful first flight in February. Rockwell Collins is supporting Avionics Services, the prime for this upgrade program, with engine instrument, autopilot, navigation, and communication capabilities as well as engineering support for development and ground and flight testing.

With 80 percent of Latin American aircraft already flying with Rockwell Collins avionics, the company has proven experience in providing quality systems and service. Avionics Services' unique expertise in Brazil and Latin America makes it one of a few companies in the region that can provide complete life cycle services from design to implementation, including certification.
