São José dos Campos, Brazil (Nov. 11, 2015) - Rockwell Collins do Brazil celebrated its 40-year anniversary today by opening an expanded facility.

'The facility expansion shows how we are committed to Brazil by growing our investment, presence and contribution to the local economy, as well as hiring and training citizens and transferring technology,' said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, Americas, for Rockwell Collins.

The new, expanded facility doubles the current size and features a new workplace effectiveness design aimed at making employees more collaborative and productive.

Brazilian government officials and aerospace industry members joined Rockwell Collins executives, including newly named President of Rockwell Collins do Brazil, Marcelo Vaz Rodrigues, to celebrate the anniversary and expansion with a ceremony and open house that showcased the latest Rockwell Collins advanced avionics and communication technologies.

'We are proud to be a major contributor to the growth of Brazil's aerospace and defense industry, as demonstrated by our facility expansion and new programs in country,' said Rodrigues.

Rockwell Collins has had a presence in Brazil for 40 years supporting military and civil aircraft operators and manufacturers with avionics and aircraft system solutions, communications and electronic systems and services. The company's Service Center facility in São José dos Campos has been critical in being able to meet local customers' needs, including aircraft manufacturer Embraer and Helibras.

Stepping up its presence and offerings beyond avionics, Rockwell Collins has increased its employee base in Brazil by 50 percent since 2011, adding engineers, program managers, service technicians, and business development personnel, including seven new strategy, marketing, business development and program personnel located in Brazil and throughout Latin America over the past year in order to support customers, partners and programs in the region.
