Rockwell Collins : Virginia Railway Express selects Rockwell Collins’ ARINC RailwayNetSM for hosted Positive Train Control solution

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Oct. 4 , 2017) -
Working to increase safety and reliability and with a focus on meeting the Positive Train Control (PTC) requirements mandated by the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008, Virginia Railway Express (VRE) has signed an agreement with Rockwell Collins to implement the company's ARINC RailwayNet service.

ARINC RailwayNet is a hosted network, messaging and application platform for passenger and freight railroads which creates a common communication infrastructure for PTC solutions. PTC systems monitor and control train movements to improve safety. The systems address specific safety conditions and are designed to enforce speed limits, prevent collisions and protect employees working on the tracks.
