During his visit to Italy Rosneft Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin held a business meeting with Roberto Deambrogio, Enel Group's Head of Region Eastern Europe.

The parties discussed implementation of the long-term contract as well as the outlook for cooperation in natural gas supplies to the generating facilities of Enel Russia.

In September 2013, Rosneft signed a long-term agreement to deliver natural gas to three gas power stations of Enel Russia between 2014 and 2025, with the annual shipping volume of up to 5.7 bcm.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in November 2013, which outlines cooperation development in exploration, production and transportation of hydrocarbons internationally. Rosneft and Enel keep studying possible cooperation opportunities in Russia primarily, as well as in South America, Eastern Europe and Northern Africa.

BACKGROUND:

Enel Group holds a 56.4% stake in PJSC Enel Russia, which includes three natural gas power plants, namely: Sredneuralskaya GRES, Konakovskaya GRES, and Nevinnomysskaya GRES; Enel Russia also has a coal power plant, Reftinskaya GRES.

In October 2015, Rosneft got 100% of shares and an operator status in the Solimões project. Since the exploration kicked-off in 2011, the project has run 2D seismic exploration of over 3,300 linear kilometers and drilled 11 exploration wells with the success ratio of 55%. This resulted in the discovery of six natural gas deposits that have the estimated reserves exceeding 28 bcm. (no new oil deposits have been found).
