An official ceremony took place in Moscow to mark the presentation of the new book 'Global Energy Unification.' The author of the publication is Liu Zhenya - Chairman of the Board of Directors of State Grid Corporation of China, Chairman of the Organization for Development and Cooperation in Global Energy Unification.

The book summarizes the author's more than 40-year career, and discusses recent advances in the area of alternative energy sources and the long-term development of the global power industry for the purposes of creating a global energy unification that incorporates technologies for the power transmission of ultra-high voltage and smart grids.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Li Hui, RF Deputy Minister of Energy Vyacheslav Kravchenko, RF Deputy Minister of Energy Anatoly Yanovsky, General Director of PJSC Rosseti Oleg Budargin, and the Rector of National Research University 'MPEI,' Nikolai Rogalev.

Welcoming remarks to the ceremony's gathered participants were delivered by the General Director of PJSC Rosseti, Oleg Budargin. He thanked the books' author for his work, and noted that its material was presented in the straightforward language of popular science, accessable and understandable to the general reader.

'The idea of global energy unification has already begun to materialize - over our past five years of cooperation with SGC of China, we have done a tremendous amount of work searching for ways to integrate power systems, finding viable options for practical solution of the problem along the way. It's critical that we're discussing this issue today, because the problem of protecting the environment and ecosystems is coming to the forefront in the global community,' added the Rosseti CEO.

The event was attended by representatives of the concerned agencies of Russia and China, the Russian Academy of Sciences, research-and-development institutes, international organizations, and members of the mass media.
