Rossiyskiye Seti PAO : Rosseti chief discusses plans for creating a unified Northeast Asian Energy System with SOFTBANK executives in Tokyo

The General Director of Rosseti PJSC, Oleg Budargin, held a meeting in Tokyo with the Chairman of the Board of Directors - General Director of Softbank, Masayoshi Son. The talks were attended by the Senior Managing Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Tadashi Maeda.

The meeting touched on issues related to the creation of the Asian Energy Ring, existing and potential projects for the development of smart grids in Russia with the involvement of Japanese companies, and joint work within the scope of the Memorandum on Planning for the Development of a Unified Northeast Asian Energy System, which was signed by Rosseti, Softbank, SGC of China and Korea's KEPCO in March of this year.

Oleg Budargin, Masayoshi Son and Tadashi Maeda also discussed the construction of energy bridges between Russia and Japan. At present, there are two viable options on the table: Sakhalin - Japan and Vladivostok - Japan.
