RSA Insurance : / Nationwide home insurance partnership goes live

As of today customers of Nationwide Building Society can purchase a new 'build your own' home insurance product underwritten by RSA

The new flexible policy allows homeowners to pay only for what they need by empowering them to pick and mix their level of cover.

The companies developed the new offer following extensive research with existing Nationwide members, to find out what is most important to them when looking at home insurance. 77% of those that the building society spoke to said that only paying for the cover they needed was a primary factor in choosing a provider.

Simplicity and service are at the heart of the new product so that the customer journey - from acquiring cover to making a claim - is smoother. In addition to giving customers the option to 'bolt on' the cover that they require, key features of the policy include unlimited buildings cover and £50,000 contents cover as standard, no additional premium for paying monthly or cancellation fees, and the promise of quicker claims settlement. Policy details will be held online to ensure easy access for customers without paperwork.

The product will be available to Nationwide members who hold a main current account, savings account or mortgage product.
