RSA announces key appointments to its London market hull business

Commercial insurer RSA has announced that former chief executive of Scottish Boatowners Mutual Insurance Association, Stuart Forsyth, has joined its London market hull underwriting team.

Stuart has been appointed as London market hull business leader and will oversee RSA's team of marine hull and construction underwriters.

He started his career as a marine trainee at the broker Willis Faber & Dumas, where he worked for 10 years, becoming marine divisional director specialising in North American and Greek business. From there, Stuart joined broker Sedgwick (now Marsh) before taking up the position of CEO of the Buckie-based fishing vessel mutual Scottish Boatowners.

During his 16-year tenure as CEO there, Stuart led Scottish Boatowners' diversification into new territories and broadened its membership beyond the UK fishing industry into short sea and brown-water trading vessels.
