Award
First electrical grid maintenance contract

Sacyr Industrial enters Panama by winning a medium and low-voltage operating and maintenance contract in Panamá Oeste Province worth $4.5 million a year for 5 years. This is the first Sacyr Industrial contract in the electrical grid maintenance sector.

The contract, which was put out to tender by the Panamanian distribution company, Edemet (a subsidy of Gas Natural Fenosa), covers the operating and maintenance of metering, medium and low-voltage maintenance, undertaking medium and low-voltage projects and implementing the rural electrification plan in the Oeste area of the country.

Sacyr Industrial thus continues its worldwide growth strategy, as attested to by the fact that it is already present in Australia, United Kingdom, Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, not to mention Spain, through its involvement in oil and gas sector, electrical infrastructure, power and waste treatment plant projects.

Sacyr Industrial has recently set up Sacyr Fluor after the acquisition of a 50% stake in the Spanish subsidy of the Fluor Corporation. The new company shall no doubt boost the growth of the group's industrial subsidiary by way of its engineering services and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects in the oil and gas sector and the onshore petrochemical industry in Spain, Southern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and several Latin American countries.

The award of this contract meets the new strategic targets set by Sacyr to boost its construction and operating concession business, along with its services and industrial activities, thus increasing its market share and capacity to take on big business challenges. The foregoing will no doubt see the company become an international touchstone for the sectors and countries in which it operates.
