Sacyr Construcción has constructed this 6.135 kilometer road, which extends the N 502 and provides an alternative to crossing the city, as well as facilitates internal connections thanks to the construction of a new bridge over the Tagus River.

The bypass has a 6.135 kilometer main stretch with another 6 kilometers of slip roads and connections that provide an alternative to the complicated city crossing and facilitate connections within the city thanks to the construction of a new bridge over the Tagus River.

Sacyr built 14 structures for this project, including the bridge over the Tagus River, a 253 meter span bridge with a composite structure; a bridge over a landfill with a 282.2 meter span; a 121.5 meter span bridge over Baladíez stream; an 81 meter span bridge over the Bárrago stream; and a 117 meter overpass over the railway tracks.

Sacyr implemented numerous measures for preventing and correcting environmental impact during the construction process, including restoring the Calera livestock road, using constructions techniques for the bridge over the Tagus River that respect the river and the vegetation along its banks, replanting the embankment slopes, landscaping, and building fences and wildlife crossings.

The new bypass has three interchanges:

  1. Connection with the A5: Northern link
  2. Link 2: connection with the CM 4101 regional motorway (Calera motorway).
  3. Roundabout connection with the current N 502 at km 120.
