Sacyr : Manuel Manrique, executive of the year at the 26th edition of the ‘Ejecutivos’ awards

For his work in recent years at the helm of the company

Manuel Manrique, Sacyr's Chairman and CEO, accepted the 'Executive of the Year' Award at the 26th celebration of the awards sponsored by the magazine Ejecutivos.

The magazine's Editorial Board has awarded this prize to Manuel Manrique for 'his work in the most recent years at the helm of the company, as he was the person responsible for putting Sacyr back on the road to growth, as one of the foremost companies in our country'.

In his speech, Manuel Manrique underscored that 'in the last five years Sacyr has overcome a huge crisis, but thanks to the hard work of all of its workers and the vision of its Board of Directors, the company has become stronger in the competitive global service and infrastructure sector.'

In the opinion of the Sacyr's Chairman, 2016 is a very important year, thanks to 'the upcoming inauguration of the expansion of the Panama Canal, an emblematic work of engineering of the 21st century, as well as the company's thirtieth anniversary, which we will be celebrating in November of this year'.

In its Strategic Vision for 2015-2020, Sacyr has set its sights on the growth of its core business areas (construction, and industrial, services and infrastructure concessions) by opening up new international markets. The group's latest milestones include the entrance of Sacyr Concesiones into two new markets: Colombia (with three infrastructure concession projects) and Uruguay (with a road corridor); the entrance of Valoriza Agua in Oman with the construction and management of a desalination plant; and the contracts obtained by Sacyr Construcción in Qatar, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and the UK, among others. Sacyr Industrial has also entered the markets of Mexico, Ecuador and Panama with a number of different energy and industrial construction projects, in addition to forming Sacyr Fluor, which is 50% owned by Sacyr and 50% by Fluor, S.A. (the Spanish subsidiary of the multinational engineering company Fluor Corporation), and the joint ventures with Nervión Industries and Isotrón.
