ADJUDICATION

Aena has adjudicated Sacyr, through its subsidiary Valoriza Facilities, which specializes in facility services, the cleaning of the Barcelona-El Prat Airport and of terminals 1, 2 and 3 of the Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas Airport for a total of 57 million euros and for a period of 3 years.

The contract for El Prat, which amounts to €34.9 million, includes the integral cleaning of the terminal 1 and 2 buildings: interiors (720,000 m2), 266 toilets, rooftops (31,117 m2), glass facades (434,549 m2) and outsides. The total surface area to be cleaned adds up to 1.2 million m2 and the service staff will comprise 349 employees.

The continuous improvement of the airport facilities and the quality of its services have turned El Prat into the airport with the second largest traffic of the Aena network. In 2014, more than 37.5 million passengers passed through Barcelona airport.

In Madrid airport, at a cost of €22.3 million, Valoriza Facilities will clean the buildings of terminals 1, 2 and 3: interiors (532,000 m2), 119 toilets, rooftops (26,940 m2) and glass areas (40,775 m2). The total surface area to be cleaned adds up to 700,000 m2 and the service staff will comprise 240 employees. Madrid airport terminals 1, 2 and 3 had a joint traffic in the past year of 19.5 million passengers.

Valoriza Facilities had a turnover of €212 million in 2014, and gave work to more than 8,000 workers. Its principal lines of business are cleaning, facility maintenance, energy services and social services.
