SACYR CONCESIONES PUTS A NEW HOSPITAL INTO OPERATION ON THE
ISLAND OF TERCEIRA (PORTUGAL) AT AN INVESTMENT OF 61.7
MILLION EUROS
This is the fifth hospital to come into service, through
which the SyV subsidiary now boasts 25 assets in operation
Madrid, 28 March 2012.- The consortium comprised of
Sacyr Concesiones (40%), Mota-Engil (40%), Marques (10%) and
Dalkia (10%), has put into operation the Santo Espíritu
Hospital on the island of Terceira (Portugal) with a
construction investment of 61.7 million euros. It will also
manage all non-health services for a period of 30
years.
The hospital, awarded by the Portuguese Ministry of Health,
has a constructed surface area of 50,000 m2 encompassing 236
beds, 45 doctor's surgeries and a day hospital. The emergency
area has three sections: general emergencies, paediatric
emergencies and obstetric/gynaecological emergencies. In
addition, the hospital incorporates a technological centre
with admission and outpatient areas, as well as cutting-edge
technology: molecular and cytogenetic biology, haemodynamics
and angiocardiography, hyperbaric medicine, radiotherapy and
nuclear medicine.
This is the fifth hospital managed by Sacyr Concesiones, the
others being the Braga hospital in Portugal (opened in 2011)
and those of Coslada, Parla and Majadahonda in the Region of
Madrid (Spain) for which Sacyr Concesiones is in charge of
all non-health services. Following this latest inauguration,
the concessions subsidiary of the SyV group has 25 assets in
operation.
Sacyr Concesiones encompasses the Sacyr Vallehermoso
group's infrastructure concession activities and has 34
assets in six countries (Spain, Portugal, Chile, Costa Rica,
Italy and Ireland). Its business is highly
diversified:
13 motorway toll roads and 8 shadow toll roads (that add up
to more than
1,500 kilometres), 2 intermodal transfer facilities, 6
hospitals, one airport, two underground lines, one light rail
line, and a motorway service area company.
