Saft Groupe is a world leader in designing, manufacturing, and marketing high-tech industrial batteries for the industry and defense sectors. Sales by product family are distributed as follows:
- industrial batteries (46.1%): nickel-cadmium batteries intended for industrial infrastructures, the aeronautics and railroad industries, telecom infrastructures and electric or hybrid vehicles;
- specialized batteries (43.2%): primary and rechargeable batteries used primarily for electric metering equipment, satellites, radios, missiles, turnpike payment systems, and computer memory backup;
- portable rechargeable batteries (10.7%): nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries intended primarily for security lighting systems, alarms, professional electronic devices, and personality mobility equipment.
At the end of 2009, the group had 15 production sites throughout the world.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe (51.4%), North America (29.5%), Asia and Oceania (11.7%), Near East and Africa (6.9%), and South America (0.5%).
