Saft Groupe is the world leader in designing, manufacturing, and marketing high-tech industrial batteries for the industry and defense sectors. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- industrial batteries (53,6%): nickel-cadmium batteries intended for industrial infrastructures, the aeronautics and railroad industries, telecom infrastructures and electric or hybrid vehicles;
- specialized batteries (46,4%): primary and rechargeable batteries used primarily for electric metering equipment, satellites, radios, missiles, turnpike payment systems, and computer memory backup.
At the end of 2012, the group had 15 production sites throughout the world.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Europe (42.9%), North America (35.1%), Asia and Oceania (12.3%), Middle East and Africa (8.3%) and South America (1.4%).
