SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Salesforce [NYSE: CRM], the global leader in CRM, today announced that Salesforce Health Cloud was named a leader in the Forrester Research, Inc. July 2017 report The Forrester Wave(TM): Enterprise Health Clouds, Q3, 2017. The report evaluated 10 vendors based on 37 criteria grouped into three categories: strategy, current offering and market presence. Salesforce received the highest possible score in the strategy category. Health Cloud also received the highest scores possible for patient engagement and governance under the current offering category.

"Increasingly, we see healthcare organizations adopting modern cloud platforms to engage patients, improve care and lower costs," said Dr. Joshua Newman, Chief Medical Officer, Salesforce. "With Salesforce Health Cloud, these organizations are building deeper patient relationships to support healthier outcomes. We believe that being named a leader in the Forrester Wave validates the work we have been doing to move the industry from a focus on patient records to patient relationships and recognizes our position as a leader in this important and growing market."

According to Forrester, Health Cloud "brings together clinical and non-clinical data from Salesforce's customer relationship management (CRM) software to create a comprehensive view of each patient's interactions and health status. Salesforce provides pre-built analytics capabilities with its HIPAA-compliant Einstein Analytics ... Salesforce does provide a massive community of developers and tools to help its customers ramp quickly. Its AppExchange program gives customers a selection of prebuilt applications and microservices for the platform, which is a differentiator in the current market."
