NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / November 8, 2017 / It was a day of red for Twilio on Tuesday, as the company headed into its earnings report on Wednesday. Shares closed down a little over 5% as investors eagerly awaited the company's quarterly report. Shares of Salesforce were in the green after the company announced with Google on Monday that they have formed a partnership to combine their corporate software and cloud-computing services.

Salesforce.com, Inc.'s shares closed up a modest 0.29% on Tuesday with around 5.2 million shares traded. The stock hit a new high of $105 during intra-day trading yesterday. It was on Monday that the company announced that it and Google have formed a broad partnership that would pair their corporate software and cloud-computing services. Commenting on the deal, Salesforce business development executive Ryan Aytay said, "We have a lot of mutual customers. There's a lot of demand for us to work more closely together." Google Cloud sales executive Tariq Shaukat commented, "That's what our customers are doing. They're using Cisco hardware. They're using Salesforce."

Twilio Inc.'s shares closed down 5.02% on Tuesday with around 2.7 million shares traded. The company is expected to release its earnings today after the close. Guidance has projected $91 million to $93 million in revenue for the third quarter. This would be an increase of 27% to 30% from the $71.5 million in the year ago quarter. The company had also forecast an adjusted net loss per share of $0.07 to $0.08. Twilio announced on Monday that it has brought on Andreas Wienold to serve as its first regional director of DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Wienold is a veteran communications sales executive who spent a decade at Lifesize. Twilio COO George Hu commented, "Andreas joins us with an impressive track record of launching and growing markets in EMEA for leading Cloud companies, including Twilio's customer Lifesize where Andreas served as a sales leader for more than ten years."
