Samsung C&T has been listed in DJSI World Index through the Dow Jones Sustainable Management Evaluation - a first for Korea's domestic trading and distribution industry.

DJSI, which is jointly developed and operated by S&P Dow Jones (the world's largest financial information service provider) and RobecoSAM (the Switzerland-based investment organization), is one of the most prestigious and reliable global evaluations on corporate sustainability. DJSI is being used by over 40 asset managers, banks and funds across the world in their social responsibility investments, because DJSI comprehensively considers environmental and social factors as well as economic factors.

DSJI consists of DJSI World (where the global top 2,500 companies in terms of the current assets are evaluated), DJSI Asia Pacific (where 600 top Asian companies are evaluated), and DJSI Korea (where 200 top Korean companies are evaluated). Having been listed in DJSI World, it is clear that Samsung C&T's sustainable management is now recognized as world-class, including its ethical management, risk management, environmental performance, HR management, social contribution and cooperation for co-prosperity with business partners.

Notably, Samsung C&T was especially highly rated in areas such as environmental policy, environmental management systems, attraction and development of HR, health and safety management, social contribution, new market strategy and supply chain management.

Based on its revenue for 2013, Samsung C&T was evaluated for the trading and distribution category. Six Samsung affiliates including Samsung C&T and Samsung Electronics were listed at DJSI World, alongside three Japanese trading firms (including Marubeni and Mitsui). Four affiliates including Cheil Worldwide and Samsung SDI were included in DJSI Asia Pacific.

An event for issuing certificates to the DJSI-listed companies will take place at the Korea Productivity Center on October 16, 2014.
