SANY Europe has signed a contract with Van Doorn Group for six 7-high stacking dedicated empty container (EC) mast trucks.

According to WorldCargo News, the new ECHs have a capacity of 8 T on a wheelbase of 4.55 m and based on a 30 T FLT chassis. The first-built machine has reportedly sold to PSA Sines in Portugal.

Container logistics and depot operator Van Doorn has ordered six machines (with an option for an additional unit) in one go in a direct contract with SANY. The price has not been disclosed, although the contract is heavily focused on a service commitment from SANY to support Van Doorn's heavy work load.

The machines are slated for delivery early next year. They will be fitted with the Elme 582 double box attachment with double twistlocks to handle 2 over 6. The machine for PSA Sines has the Elme 584 double box attachment with side clamp and hook.

In developing this new product line, SANY paid particular attention to mast design and construction and mast cylinder positions to ensure stability at high stacking.

Width over front tyres is 4.1 m. The machines are fitted with a Stage IV Volvo 8 l engine and a Kessler D81 drive axle.

SANY Europe, formerly SANY Germany, changed its name earlier this year to reflect its "capability to service its entire European market".

It operates in 13 countries in Europe, where it is represented by mainly exclusive dealerships.

Founded in 1989, the SANY Group has developed to be one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction equipment. SANY Europe, the European headquarters of SANY Group, was founded in 2008 as SANY Germany GmbH. The company manufactures mobile container handling equipment and is the European distributor of SANY earthmoving and lifting equipment. SANY Group employs over 40,000 people worldwide.
