The principal activity of the Company is the discovery and development of new therapeutic drugs using a combination of skills in biology, computational chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The Company's internal programs focus on distinct dual tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2)/ Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitors, which are progressing through preclinical development as therapies for autoimmune diseases and cancers. Its lead candidate, SDC-1801, simultaneously inhibits TYK2 and JAK1. SDC-1801 is a potential treatment for a range of autoimmune diseases, with an initial focus on psoriasis. It is also developing SDC-1802, a TYK2/JAK1 inhibitor with a potential application for cancer immunotherapy. The Company also has an interest in SRA737, an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1), a key regulator of important cell cycle checkpoints and a central mediator of the DNA damage response (DDR) network.
