db symmetry, advised by Savills, has acquired a landmark development site at Junction 34 of the A1 (M) in Nottinghamshire from Rossington Blyth Ltd. The firm will create a major new distribution park (to be called Symmetry Park) and has instructed Savills and Dove Haigh Phillips as joint letting agents.

The plot totals 48 acres (19 hectares) and has outline planning consent for up to 721,000 sq ft (66,980 sq m) of employment space. Once completed, Symmetry Park will benefit from excellent transport links to neighbouring Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands through its position within a network of five major motorways. The site is also well-located to serve the east coast ports.

The acquisition spearheads a significant business expansion strategy in the Northern markets for db symmetry. Andrew Dickman, director at db symmetry, comments: "The scale and superb connectivity makes this a truly recognisable logistics location, which we believe will generate excellent demand. This site provides db symmetry with its first major project east of the Pennines although we look forward to further increasing the number of projects in this region in the near future."

Dave Robinson, industrial director at Savills, adds: "This is one of the few sites in the region that is capable of delivering large scale industrial development and we are delighted to have secured it on behalf of our client. "

db symmetry was formed as a UK joint venture through the purchase of a 60% holding in Barwood Developments Limited by clients advised by Delancey. The creation of db symmetry provides Barwood with a strong financial partner and Delancey with access to Barwood's significant existing portfolio of logistics development opportunities.

Rossington Blyth Ltd was represented by Dove Haigh Phillips.
