Savills has boosted its Cambridge office with a number of key appointments including Carl Williams as head of property management, James Kelway as head of building & project consultancy and Garth Hanlon as head of planning.

With more than 17 years experience in the property sector, Carl Williams joins from Bidwells where he took charge of high profile commercial estates and investment portfolios including schemes at both CB1 and Granta Park. At Savills, Carl will head up property management in Cambridge with a remit to oversee and develop current instructions, seek new business opportunities and further grow the team.

Subsequently, James Kelway will now head up building & project consultancy in Cambridge following Martin Mills retirement. James started at Savills in 2005 where he most recently ran the new build project management team at the firm's Margaret Street office, specialising in industrial property. Expanding on his role, James will focus on broadening the team's offer, specifically in the education, commercial and bio-tech sectors, alongside working for current industrial clients.

Cambridge's planning team will now be led by Garth Hanlon, who has taken over from David Henry following his decision to step down to focus on strategic project work on a part time basis. Garth joined Savills in 1998 as an associate before going on to head up the department for seven years between 2006 and 2013. Resuming the role, Garth will lead a team of 12 working on a number of key projects across the region.

Rob Sadler, head of office at Savills Cambridge, comments: 'This is an exciting time for Savills Cambridge office as we hand over the baton to faces both new and old. All three of our new heads of departments are highly esteemed professionals within their respective markets and I have no doubt that they will continue to take the Savills brand forward and provide the highest quality advice and service to our client base.'
