Highways England, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has acquired office space at Norflex House in Darlington.

The firm has agreed a new 10-year lease for 15,488 sq ft (1,434 sq m) across the ground and first floors of the property, which is located on Allington Way near the A66. The deal forms part of Highways England's plans to acquire new office and industrial depot space in the South West, North West and North East of England, on which Savills is advising.

Paddy Carter, associate director in the office agency team at Savills, comments: 'We are pleased to have completed the first acquisition of new space for Highways England following our recent instruction. Darlington is excellently positioned for our client's new facility given its access to the motorway network and strong amenity offerings.'

The landlord, Northgate Plc, was unrepresented.
