Chairman of Business Team for Russia and ex-Prime Minister of Finland Esko Aho gives talk at Sberbank's Corporate University

February 25, 2015, Moscow - Esko Aho, Prime Minister of Finland from 1991-95 and Chairman of Business Team for Russia, gave a lecture titled "Finland's post-1980s technology policy: creation of an innovation ecosystem for the digital age" at the campus of Sberbank's Corporate University. His audience was made up of participants of the Corporate University's training programmes.

Esko Aho shared his view on what is required from society and companies during the digital revolution and which government measures can help promote the creation of innovation ecosystems. In addition, he talked about Finland's successful key technological development policies.

"Esko Aho has unique and relevant experience in effectively putting together and carrying out innovation development strategies for Finland, the country that he began governing in 1991 at the height of a global economic crisis," commented Valery Katkalo, Dean of Sberbank's Corporate University. He added: "Finland is an innovation leader and an example of a country that has correctly chosen a technological development strategy that has transformed its economy and society in a short time."

Autonomous Not-for-profit organisation (ANO) Sberbank's Corporate University was founded in March 2012 as a 100% subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia. In April 2014 Sberbank's Corporate University received a licence to carry out supplementary professional education programmes. The portfolio of the Corporate University includes more than 40 customised programmes for developing the leadership, management and professional competencies of 36,000 Sberbank managers. Training at Sberbank's Corporate University is unique as the Bank's key managers are taught according to the "Leaders Teach Leaders" system, a number of landmark programmes are held together with the world's leading business schools, and remote and electronic learning formats are widely used.

The campus of Sberbank's Corporate University is located in the Moscow Region's Istrinsky District and was opened in December 2014. The campus was designed taking into account best international practices of creating corporate learning centres and is unparalleled in Russia.
