January 21, 2015, Moscow - The IT Block's goals for the period up to 2018 are maximum efficiency that guarantees the availability of all IT services, and flexibility that quickly gets products to market owing to simplified and standardized technology and business processes - Senior Vice-President of Sberbank Nikita Volkov announced during a press conference. Other strategic goals for the bank's IT Block include industrializing developments and operations of systems, and maximizing spending efficiency, according to the speaker.

One of Sberbank's key programs is the program securing critical automated systems "99.99", which is planned to be fully implemented in 2018. The current results of the implementation of the program show a four-fold decrease in total downtime of critical systems, while downtime during process work has been reduced 2.5 times and incidents in the system - 2.4 times. In addition, today all Sberbank critical systems are fully duplicated.

"The IT Block's new mission is to support Sberbank by providing efficient and reliable traditional banking services, and be a quick and innovative provider of new services and revolutionary business models for the banking sector and beyond," said Nikita Volkov.

The press conference was held at Sberbank's Yuzhny Port Data Processing Center - the largest data processing center in Eastern Europe, which was commissioned in November, 2011.
