July 23, 2014, Moscow - A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of Sberbank cash-in-transit courier in Tomsk on June 29, 2014, according to the Tomsk Oblast Investigative Committee. The suspect was arrested in Novosibirsk Oblast at the home of an acquaintance. Investigators are conducting a search of the house and questioning witnesses. A weapon along with more than RUB 2.5 mln of the stolen money was recovered during the search. According to preliminary reports, the suspect had been living under an assumed identity and committed several crimes in other cities. The criminal investigation is ongoing.

The armed assault on two Sberbank cash-in-transit couriers took place in the backroom of a hypermarket, leaving one cash-in-transit courier dead and another seriously injured. The perpetrator stole RUB 3.3 mln.
