June 16, 2017, Moscow - The 'Teacher for Russia' programme has produced its first batch of graduates. Teacher for Russia is a public project aimed at involving graduates of the leading Russian universities in teaching at schools. Sberbank represented by the charity foundation Contribution to Future has been actively supporting the project as its strategic partner. The first participants of the programme started working at schools in the Moscow and Voronezh regions two years ago. The Kaluga and Tambov regions became partners of the programme in 2016. Part of the programme's graduates continue to work in regional schools, while others have got job offers from leading educational institutions in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. A third of the graduates from the first intake recieved grants to launch their own projects.

CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Herman Gref said: 'We try to invest as much effort as possible in our educational projects and will try to continue doing it in the future. The Teacher for Russia programme will be efficient only when many participants join it. Judging by the first graduates and feedback from pupils, we can see the dramatic results of these two years.'

Teacher for Russia includes two years of professional training jointly with teaching at a school. The best practicing Russian teachers, business coaches, experts from public educational entities and entrepreneurs work with each participant of the programme. Training is conducted on the basis of the programme, which has been developed together with the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The participants receive a salary of 20,000 roubles as a special grant and 15,000 roubles as compensation if they have to rent accommodation. The long-term goal of the programme is to create a community of talented specialists who can give an impetus to the renewal and development of the Russian educational system.

The third intake is about to finish. More than 160 teachers for Russia will work at schools in Moscow, and the Moscow, Kaluga, Tambov, and Voronezh Regions in the new academic year.
