20 April 2018, Moscow - Sberbank First has opened Club of the First - a community for the bank's premium clients. This aim of this project is to hold special events on a regular basis, including the First Talk discussions that involve renowned individuals, business seminars, closed meetings for top managers and business owners, and business conferences.

The decision to open the club was made based on research carried out by Sberbank First, in which premium segment clients expressed the opinion that there are not enough educational and discussion events. Senior executives and business owners are most interested in topics such as self-development, personal relationships, business, motivation and sources of energy, the future, health, lifestyle, rest and relaxation, children, and charity.

The following events will be held as part of the Club of the First.

First Talk: a series of public discussions involving famous individuals and experts. The first discussion, titled 'Cinema as a reflection of global processes. What are viewers worried about in the digital age?', took place on 10 April. It involved special guests director Andrey Zvyagintsev and producer Alexander Rodnyansky. Discussions will be held once a month and broadcast online. Upcoming topics include women in business and artificial intelligence.

Business seminars: closed meetings between clients and experts from different sectors of the economy. Topics will include: 'The new capital amnesty and tax-free liquidation of foreign companies', 'Investing in 2018: risks and new opportunities', 'Passing capital from generation to generation: legal and tax issues', 'The legal and tax consequences of investing in blockchain', 'Taxation of foreign assets under the conditions of information transparency', and 'Online safety for you and your business'.

Closed meetings between senior executives and business owners: moderated meetings involving groups of 10 to 12 people. This format, which is new to Russia, emerged in the United States around 40 years ago and is popular among businesspeople all over the world. It lets people network as well as resolve various different issues, including personal ones.

Large business conferences: at these events clients will be able to meet with the bank's management and international experts.

'Banks are stepping up their efforts in the battle for clients and going beyond offering financial services,' said Maria Podenko, Head of Sberbank's Premium Solutions for Affluent Clients Division. 'Premium segment financial services alone are not enough anymore. The leading players of the global banking industry are crossing over to a new format where the emphasis is on interacting with local communities of clients. Club of the First is a community for people who share a similar background. We have put together different communication formats, which range from closed 10-person groups to big conferences. This year we will also open our Club of the First in a number of Russia's regions.'
