CAYCE, S.C., Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SCANA Corporation (NYSE:SCG) announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors today - Mr. Alfredo "Al" Trujillo, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc.; and Mr. John "Jack" F.A.V. Cecil, President of Biltmore Farms, LLC.

SCANA's Board of Directors voted on October 10, 2013 to increase the size of the SCANA Corporation Board from nine to eleven members. The Board elected Trujillo and Cecil to serve in the newly created seats until the next Annual Meeting of Shareholders at which time the Board plans to propose each for election by the shareholders.

Al Trujillo was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of the Georgia Tech Foundation in July, 2013. He has also served as a Trustee of the Foundation and formerly served as Chairman of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Business from Stanford University. Trujillo emigrated from Cuba as an infant and grew up in South Florida. He has previously held the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer of Recall Corporation, a global document management company. He currently serves on the board of Haverty's Furniture.

Jack Cecil has served as President of Biltmore Farms, LLC since 1992. Biltmore Farms is a fourth generation family-owned business with a primary focus of sustainable community development, including home building, residential communities, apartments, hotels, and retail properties. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, and he also earned a Masters degree in International Management. He currently serves on the Mission Hospital Board, and the North Carolina Economic Development Board.
