Cayce, S.C. (Jan. 14, 2014) - SCANA Corp. and its subsidiaries, including SCE&G, paid approximately $169 million in property taxes in South Carolina for property assessed in 2013.

"These dollars help support schools, police, fire and other critical public services and have a significant impact in the communities we serve," said SCE&G spokesperson Eric Boomhower.

The largest single tax payment was made to Lexington County in the amount of approximately $32.1 million. Other significant payments included:

Aiken County - $9.2 million
Allendale County -$1.3 million
Bamberg County -$1.2 million
Barnwell County -$1.7 million
Beaufort County -$5.1 million
Berkeley County -$7.1 million
Charleston County -$14.6 million
Colleton County -$5 million
Dorchester County -$4.9 million
Edgefield County -$1.2 million
Fairfield County -$25.8 million
Florence County -$1.1 million
Hampton County -$2.4 million
Jasper County -$6.3 million
Orangeburg County -$12 million
Richland County -$30.6 million
Saluda County -$1 million
