Scandinavia's largest circus, Danish Cirkus Arena, is well prepared for the 2017 season. The circus has recently purchased eleven used Scania G 400 to pull its many wagons and trailers. By chance, all of the tractors are red, which suits the travelling circus perfectly.

As the 2016 season drew to a close in August, circus director Benny Berdino and his son Jackie raised their tent in Kolding in Jutland, where Scania has a Used Vehicle Centre. Although the Danish season is over, the circus' artists and animals normally make guest appearances in Europe over the winter season. They also rent their equipment to circuses in other parts of Europe. Cirkus Arena therefore needed trucks for immediate delivery to meet transport needs.

'The circus previously had a mixed bag of trucks, some dating back 25 years, 'says Used Vehicle Key Account Manager Flemming Østergard. When Berdino made the calculation, he found that it would actually be cheaper to replace the entire aging fleet.'

The Scania Used Truck Centre in Kolding happened to have the needed trucks in stock and the deal was quickly completed with the help of Scania Finance. Since circus life involves constant travel - with live animals - Benny Berdino opted for the favourable Scania Classic service agreement for vehicles older than five years.

Cirkus Arena can now look forward to its 52 season, starting in Copenhagen in March. It all started back in 1955 when Benny Berdino senior's father, Arne Olsen, formed the circus, which initially only consisted of his family and the clown Larno. From its humble beginnings as Denmark's perhaps smallest circus, it has evolved into Scandinavia's largest.
