Schroders today announces the appointment of Jean Roche as a fund manager in the Pan-European Small and Mid Cap team. She joins in January 2016 from Hargreave Hale where she was most recently a fund manager and analyst on the top quartile1 Marlborough Multi Cap Income Fund.

After more than 17 years at Schroders Rosemary Banyard, fund manager and Co-Head of Pan-European Small Companies, has decided to leave and pursue new opportunities. Subsequently Andy Brough will become sole head of the Pan-European Small and Mid Cap Team. Rosemary will continue in her role as fund manager and co-head of the team until 31 March 2016. During this time, a comprehensive handover of responsibilities will take place.

Andy Brough will become the sole manager of the Schroder UK Smaller Companies Fund supported by the team. The board of the Schroder UK Mid Cap Fund Plc has agreed that Andy Brough will become the lead manager. Iain Staples, existing co-manager of the Schroder Institutional UK Smaller Companies Fund, will take on additional co-manager responsibilities for some of the segregated mandates.

Biography for Jean Roche

After graduating with a first class honours MSc in financial and industrial mathematics from Dublin City University, Ireland, in 1999, Jean joined Morgan Stanley's equity research department. Jean held senior research and analyst positions, notably at HM Treasury, Arbuthnot Securities and Panmure Gordon, before joining Hargreave Hale as a fund manager in 2013. A CFA charterholder since 2003, Jean has over fifteen years' industry experience.
