In a series of five one-minute videos, HGTV home tech expert Carly Knobloch covers the following topics:

  • Today’s smart locks, smart lighting and sophisticated, yet easy-to-use home monitoring are all connected to apps that allow the homeowner to control these features remotely.
  • Take home entertainment to the next level with new systems that are wireless, automated and affordable thanks to the latest in home technology.
  • Home security systems are smarter than ever, allowing home owners to access their house with codes rather than keys, lock their door remotely and receive notifications when family members enter the house.
  • Add fun to the bathroom with a digital, remote-controlled shower complete with temperature presets, as well as smart glass, which turns windows from clear to opaque in the touch of a button.
  • The latest home automation technology such as smart thermostats, LED light bulbs and smart shades can reduce home energy usage dramatically.
