Formerly president of national ad sales and marketing, Gigliotti will now oversee Scripps Networks Interactive’s efforts in both advertising sales and content distribution. The move will enable the business to ensure that it takes a coordinated approach to revenue generation across multiple platforms, and maximize its growth in a rapidly changing media landscape.

Gigliotti has led advertising sales for the company for 15 years, having previously held senior sales and general management roles with TV stations across the United States. He will continue to be based at Scripps Networks Interactive’s company headquarters in Tennessee, and reports to Scripps Networks President Burton Jablin.

“The business model for video-based content companies used to be very clearly defined, but as consumer options have multiplied, so have the number of business models,” said Jablin. “As a result, businesses have to take a much more coordinated approach to revenue generation if they are to take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.”

“Steve has a track record of unbroken success both at Scripps Networks Interactive, and in the wider television industry before that. His leadership skills and his analytical approach to strategy will enable us to best utilize the tremendous resources of our ad sales and distribution teams, to deliver even greater focus on maximizing revenues across all new and existing revenue streams.”

Gigliotti began his career in local radio sales in Philadelphia. He moved to New York to join CBS, initially in radio before moving into local then national television sales. During 21 years with CBS, he additionally managed television sales operations on both coasts, and left the network as vice president and station manager of KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. He joined The E.W. Scripps Company in 1996 as vice president and general manager of WMAR-TV in Baltimore, before being appointed senior vice president of advertising sales for Scripps Networks in 2000.

Gigliotti studied engineering at Villanova University and received a degree in marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
