SDL (LSE: SDL) today announced that the company has partnered with digital consultancy Building Blocks on more than 60 successful joint technology implementations to improve customer experience for marquee brands, including Celebrity Cruises, Guinness World Records and Adama Agricultural Solutions.

Through this partnership, SDL combines its ability to transform global customer experiences with Building Blocks’ expertise in identifying digital opportunities that will increase revenues, develop relationships and improve efficiencies. As one of the many successful implementations, Celebrity Cruises turned to SDL Web, a key component of SDL’s Customer Experience Cloud, and Building Blocks to improve the mobile journey for its website, increase conversions and deliver a positive brand experience in line with the company’s modern luxury values.

“At Celebrity Cruises, it’s important that our customers have a consistent and local web experience on the device of their choosing. SDL and Building Blocks helped us to achieve this, rolling out a successful mobile-first strategy that we continue to develop to meet the needs of our growing customer base,” said Toby Shaw, Director of Marketing & PR, Celebrity Cruises. “We couldn’t be more delighted with the seamlessness and success of this project. Their combined digital vision and innovative solutions has produced the superior mobile experience that reflects the modern luxury experience our customers have come to expect.”

The site’s improved itinerary content, powerful imagery and simplified booking process has improved conversion rates. Additionally, with the success of the new mobile-responsive website in Ireland, Celebrity Cruises launched the co.uk site in March of 2015. Early results of the project include:

  • 12 percent increase in bookings from mobile/tablet devices in the first two weeks of launching the co.uk site
  • 3 percent increase in online revenue in the UK for the first two weeks
  • 140 percent increase in online revenue for Ireland since the launch

Guinness World Records also benefits from a collaboration between SDL and Building Blocks. With a database of over 40,000 world records and 1,000 new applications being received each week, the organization sought a solution to improve the efficiency of recording, storing and managing its record database. Following its implementation, Guinness World Records has transformed the processes for creating and managing records with a centralized tool to speed up customer response times, drive predictable results and improve the accuracy and re-use of information.

Another SDL and Building Blocks customer, Adama Agricultural Solutions, undertook a global re-branding and digital centralization project across its 45 operating markets to launch its new company name, introduce uniform branding across all international subsidiaries and centralize its digital operations. Working together, SDL and Building Blocks helped Adama launch a major re-brand, providing a central, global content management system and managing the roll-out of the company’s 49 new websites. As a result, the company now has a consistent image, websites that reflect the specific needs and target audiences in each country and an improved global brand perception. The implementation was recognized with the prestigious Agrow Award for “Best Marketing Campaign” for the global brand launch.
