SDL (LSE: SDL) today announced IMES DEXIS, a leading B2B provider of industrial factory products in Northern Europe, has expanded their use of SDL's eCommerce Optimization (formerly known as SDL Fredhopper) to deliver a buying experience that adapts to their diverse international customer base.

From screwdrivers to safety shoes and hydraulic systems to hoses - IMES DEXIS has the entire factory spectrum covered when it comes to maintenance, repair and operations materials. The Belgium-based B2B provider serves as a one-stop-shop for technical plants across Northern Europe, with over a million products in its database. With a slow-to-search legacy database providing poor results and a lack of reliability given the large database of products, IMES DEXIS needed to make a change.

IMES DEXIS selected SDL due to the fast, easy-to-use smart search and navigation technology within SDL eCommerce Optimization. Further, a major deciding factor was the ability to leverage the rich data that IMES DEXIS meticulously collects across the three languages to automatically offer recommendations to customers based on their previous purchases or the buying habits of similar customers.
