SDL (LSE: SDL) today announced the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, executed the Navy Enterprise Subscription License Agreement (NESL) from SDL. This agreement will reduce the total cost of ownership for NAVSEA’s technical data creation, management and distribution services in support of the U.S. Naval surface and underwater fleets. This award also includes a Compatibility Sustainment Agreement ensuring the NAVSEA viewer, a common Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) distribution and viewing platform, remains compatible with the latest releases of the technology it is built upon - SDL LiveContent S1000D.

This NESL agreement supports the Standard NAVSEA Integrated Publishing Process (SNIPP), which delivers multiple benefits, including: a streamlined ability to meet mission objectives, common and repeatable processes, standardized applications and data repositories, as well as data integration across authoritative data sources.

“SDL’s technology has become the cornerstone of the Standard NAVSEA Integrated Publishing Process (SNIPP),” said Ron Stonecypher, Technical Data Manager, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, and U.S. Navy. “SNIPP manages technical data for every hull in the U.S. Navy’s fleet, and the NESL Program, created with SDL, helps us achieve our strategic rationalization, reduction and centralization goals.”

“Content delivery is a critical component of all user experiences,” said Mark Lancaster, CEO and founder, SDL. “We’re honored to help the U.S. Navy with its centralization strategy for technical data management and delivery so that field technicians and supporting contractors can more easily understand and access technical content, resulting in important time and cost savings.”
