Semperit : Final decision from Court against former exclusivity clause, no impact on ongoing Sempermed business

Vienna, 4th October 2017 - The Austrian Supreme Court has decided that the former exclusivity provision for the distribution and marketing by Semperit in Europe of gloves manufactured by our former Joint Venture Company in Thailand was not compliant with competition law in 2015/16. Furthermore, the Supreme Court has decided not to involve the European Court of Justice.
This ruling has no impact on ongoing Sempermed business and therefore has no influence on the day to day operations of the glove business of Sempermed as the Joint Venture Agreement with Sri Trang Group was unanimously dissolved on 15 March 2017.
A potential penalty has not been decided so far.
