Servelec, the UK-based technology and software group, announces it has successfully secured accreditation from the Cyber Essentials Scheme Test. The accreditation underpins Servelec's role in supporting customers to manage the online security of their data across critical industries such as health and social care, utilities infrastructure and heavy industry.

A primary objective of the UK Government's National Cyber Security Strategy is to make the UK a safer place to conduct business online and suppliers must now be compliant with the new Cyber Essentials controls if bidding for government contracts which involve the handling of sensitive or personal information.

Alan Stubbs, CEO of Servelec Group said; 'In managing big data on behalf of our customers Servelec recognises the critical importance of its security and the impact of any data breach. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to ensuring online security of customer data through our investment in the relevant security infrastructure, our people and our skills.

'I would like to thank the Servelec team who have contributed to helping us gain this accreditation and we look forward to working closely with our customers to maintain our focus on keeping their customers' data secure.'
