SWL SECURES $130 MILLION IN NEW CONTRACTS

Infrastructure engineering and construction group, Seymour Whyte Limited (ASX: SWL) today announced it had been awarded the $85 million contract by New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to undertake upgrade works between Hartley Valley to Forty Bends, located in the Blue Mountains.
The safety upgrade project will involve reconstruction, realignment and widening of approximately
12 kilometres of the Great Western Highway.
Seymour Whyte Group Managing Director, David McAdam said the win in its own right, reinforces confidence in the organisation's growth strategy.
"The win underpins our strategy for growth in delivering bigger, more complex projects independently," Mr McAdam said.
"It shows that our brand is being recognised by clients at a tier one level through greater financial stability and established high level systems and capabilities.
"By late 2014, three projects will be in the delivery phase for RMS, demonstrating a solid client relationship built on our excellent project delivery capabilities - enabling growth in our New South Wales project base.
"Reflecting the State Government's commitment to new infrastructure development, the New South Wales transport infrastructure sector is expected to continue steady growth in FY15 and beyond," he said.
The Group confirms contract finalisation for the previously advised $16 million design and
construct contract with Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, marking re-entry into the airport sector.
"The airport sector is forecast to grow in value with a number of future airport expansions across capital cities and regional areas nationally.
"Our growth strategy, complemented by deep local networks allows us to draw on our civil experience to deliver projects such as this," Mr McAdam said.
The Group is also encouraged by more than $30 million in new project awards across Transport Infrastructure (Seymour Whyte Constructions Pty Ltd) and Utilities Infrastructure (Rob Carr Pty Ltd) divisions nationally.
"Seymour Whyte is very pleased to be awarded the Kabra Holding Yards project, on behalf of
Aurizon, Australia's largest rail freight operator.
"The project demonstrates Seymour Whyte's diverse skills and its capability in delivering rail transport infrastructure that is vital to the country's growth," he said.
Other awards include the Busselton Infill Sewerage Project for Western Australian Water Corporation; Roy Hill Operational Watermain project for Samsung (Western Australia); and a utilities project in Hamilton (Queensland).
Seymour Whyte is currently delivering a number of successful transport infrastructure projects on behalf of RMS including the $47 million Bullaburra East Upgrade in the Blue Mountains, and the
$54 million Central Coast Highway Upgrade at West Gosford.
Expertise gained from working within the Blue Mountains Heritage Area on Bullaburra East will be applied on Hartley Valley to Forty Bends, particularly around environmental management methods and techniques to increase overall project efficiency and sustainability.
Construction of the Hartley Valley to Forty Bends road upgrade is expected to commence by late
2014, with completion scheduled in 2016.
