Recalls of cosmetic, personal care and household items increased in Q4 in both the EU and the USA - up 244% and 2100% respectively, compared to Q3, 2017.

In the EU, the biggest recall product category was cosmetics, with 30 recalls, of which 19 were skin care products presenting mainly chemical risks. In the USA, 66 cosmetic products were recalled for microbiological risks.

As in Q3, 2017, chemical and microbiological risks were the root cause of most recalls.
